This lovely lady deserves an introduction. Besita, which means little kiss in Spanish, is our true black female. She came to us in January and delivered the first cria of Rita Dee Farms in March. Besita has good confirmation, is an excellent mother and prongs (the human version of skipping) through the pasture in the evening. She has even turned our guardian llama on to the idea. Her elegance really came shining through after shearing. When the sun hits her fleece she looks like velvet! Besita bred with a medium silver grey this Spring. We expected a grey, but since alpaca breeding is like opening a box of chocolates, Besita gave us another beautiful black female. Now, she is carrying our blue ribbon boy Orlando’s cria. We are definitely expecting a true black this time! Watch for a birth announcement around 6/1/14.
